Hopium Becomes Reality: Arc Raiders Arrives This October

Oh wow, so today, right, at this Summer Game Fest thing — no clue why I even tuned in, maybe because everyone was buzzing about it? — the fans of this game, Arc Raiders, finally got what they’ve been yammering for. You know, since like May or something, after this second tech test thing wrapped up. Honestly, seemed like nobody wanted to stop playing. Kinda wild, right? Felt like, wow, the game was already pretty slick even in that early stage. Almost like folks were screaming, “Just release it already!” But, hey, what they got wasn’t the full game yet, but — and here’s a drumroll moment — they did score a release date!

So, let me digress a sec: there’s all this talk about maybe another beta test? But nope, fans gotta hang on a bit longer before jumping back into Arc Raiders. Seriously, imagine being stuck on the sidelines during Tech Test 2. I mean, all those people just sitting there, like, glued to their screens, living vicariously through YouTube videos or whatever. Sounds rough, right?

Fast forward to today, Embark dropped the bombshell: Arc Raiders is hitting PCs, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 30, 2025. Cue the fireworks. Apparently, it’s an updated build, tagging some new bells and whistles onto the stuff from Tech Test 2. Still, got to wait and actually play it to see what the fuss is about.

You know, it didn’t even need too much tweaking — it’s got this strong character vibe, a hook that keeps you coming back, and something that weirdly makes me think of the olden days of PUBG. Not sure why that hits home, but it does.

And there’s this whole thing with Arc Raiders’ devs, Embark, being kinda chummy with Geoff Keighley. Fun fact: the game made its first splash during The Game Awards back in 2021 as something completely different, a co-op shooter, and now look how it morphed.

Reminds me, The Finals — that was their first brainchild — they sort of surprise-launched it in December 2023 at the Game Awards. So, naturally, when Summer Game Fest rolled around this year, everyone was on edge, expecting juicy Arc Raiders tidbits. And, well, they sure got some.
