Spotify Launches on Quest: Enjoy Background Music Playback

Oh man, so Spotify’s got this new thing for Quest, right? Kind of a big deal if you’re into that whole virtual reality scene. You know how sometimes you’re just floating around—literally or figuratively—and you want some tunes? Well, now they’ve got a web app. But here’s the twist: it’s a progressive web app. Like, it opens up its own little browser window, which is kind of quirky, if you think about it.

Now, don’t get too excited. Offline listening? Forget about it. It’s a no-go. You still need the internet, just like that eternal WiFi hunt we all do. But hey, at least you don’t have to keep typing in the URL or whatever. Pretty convenient, I guess.

There’s your usual stuff too—music, podcasts, and all that jazz. Want it in the background? Cool. Want video podcasts? Has that too. You can even check out lyrics, just in case you wanna belt out some wrong notes on purpose. Or not. I mean, who really knows all the lyrics, right?

Oh, and the big question everyone asks: free or paid? Both. Whatever tickles your fancy, freebie or subscriber, you’re good to go. You’ll find it on the Horizon Store if you’re rocking a Quest 2 or something newer. Makes me wonder, though—what was wrong with accessing it the old way? But, change is good. Sometimes. Or not.
