So, get this. The Pokémon Company International just dropped some news, like, out of nowhere – next week they’re rolling out this new thing called the Wisdom of Sea and Sky in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Yep, you heard me. It’s happening.
Starting Wednesday, July 30, 2025, you can dive back into some serious nostalgic vibes with Pokémon from the Johto region. Remember those little guys from Pokémon Gold and Silver? Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile – they’re all making a comeback. And, oh man, the Legendary ones too – Lugia and Ho-Oh. I can almost hear that old Gameboy music playing in my head.
And here’s a twist I didn’t see coming. This expansion has Pokémon with attacks that don’t even need Energy. Like, what?! Might be game-changing for those brain-twisting deck strategies. Could be fun, or maybe it’ll just confuse the heck outta me. Who knows.
But hold up, there’s more. They’re jazzing up the Trade feature, which some folks might actually care about. There’s gonna be this Wishlist thingy where you can basically broadcast your dream cards to the world. Up to 20 cards – feels like a lot until you consider… Actually, yeah, no, that’s a lot.
And they’re ditching those Trade tokens. I’m not entirely sure why, but now you’ll need this stuff called shinedust for trading rarer cards. Sounds fancy, right? You can get it through in-game missions or having extra cards, but honestly, missions freak me out a bit – I always end up procrastinating.
Anyway, you gotta switch your trade tokens for pack hourglasses and shinedust in the shop before it all goes live, ’cause after the clock strikes 01:00 UTC on July 30, trade tokens are history. Poof, just like that.
Oh, and just so you know, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is totally accessible on iOS and Android. But I guess you already knew that, right? Maybe. Or not.
And then there’s a trailer or something, but honestly, who has time for videos these days? Okay, maybe I do sometimes, but yeah, you get it.
