You’re not gonna believe this, but the whole Konami code thing? Yeah, it’s still a no-go for costume unlocks in Mario Kart World. Maybe it’ll happen in version 1.3.0, or maybe not. Who knows.
Anyway, so Nintendo just dropped an update on us, and of course, they handled it like only they can. Typical, right?
Let’s dig into those patch notes though. They’re packed with all sorts of nitpicky details. Like, they’ve sorted out some really obscure course issues—stuff you’d never even notice unless you’re one of those super-dedicated players. There are new identifiers, too. So now, if you’re in free roam and find every little switch and Peach medallion, the game will actually let you know. Which is cool, I guess.
Oh, and check this—one of the features now lets you pick a specific character to watch in the online modes. So if you’re obsessed with, say, Luigi, you can totally make him the star of your spectator show.
Version 1.2 is shaking things up a bit, too. It’s bumping up the chances for lap courses to pop up in “Vs Race” and wireless races. More laps, more fun, or so they say. It’s these little tweaks that keep us coming back, right? Or maybe that’s just what I tell myself.
