So, okay, here’s the weird thing about numbers—they can be exciting, right? Capcom, this big-shot Japanese publisher, totally rocked it with ¥45.5 billion in net sales from April to June. Now, if you’re like me and can’t do math on the spot, that’s $302.2 million. Loads of cash, right?
Did I mention there’s a giant leap of 53.7% compared to last year? Yeah, mind blown. And before I lose my point, it’s all because of their games. Seriously, Capcom’s games business nailed it. Devil May Cry 5 riding high, thanks to some anime magic on Netflix. Throw in Resident Evil—Village and the 4 Remake—and you get why they’re smiling. Oh, and Street Fighter 6—gotta love a good brawl.
Now, ballspark numbers again—10.5 million bucks spent on Devil May Cry 5, with 1.7 mil just this past quarter. Not bad for a demon-slaying adventure, right? And Resident Evil Village? It’s cracking 12.2 million units. Somehow, the obsession is real with Resident Evil 4 too—10.6 million, fingers tapping away. Street Fighter 6—five million copies—and maybe part of that love is ’cause it’s out on Nintendo Switch 2.
Capcom churned out 14.16 million game copies in that time, a huge up from the previous 9.53 million. Hold on, need to process… that’s like a 48% hike? Geez.
And, just when you think numbers can’t get crazier, here’s another splash—operating profit soared by 90.8%. Now they’ve got ¥24.6 billion, or, uh, $163.4 million to mess around with. Wild, the lot of it.
