Okay, so Samsung’s doing this whole mixed reality headset thing, right? I mean, they didn’t really chat about it at their Unpacked bash or even at Google I/O. But, hey, they’ve said it’s still on its way this year. Not like that makes us feel super informed, but, you know, it’s something.
During a recent call where they were talking money — which, let’s face it, I never quite understand — Samsung’s like, “Yeah, Project Moohan is coming.” Funny name, right? We still have zero clues about what it’ll actually be called or when it’ll hit shelves or even how much it’ll dent our wallets. Classic.
So this guy, Daniel Araujo, drops a line about it during Samsung’s Q2 2025 earnings spiel. Mentioned it alongside some TriFold smartphone thing, too. Can’t say I’m holding my breath, though.
For some reason, Samsung seems shy about this Project Moohan. Why haven’t they shouted about it from the rooftops? And come on, at Google I/O, they barely gave it a nod. Isn’t that, like, the place to get Android peeps excited?
Same deal at Samsung Unpacked in July. Big ol’ yawn from Project Moohan. Same goes for the TriFold phone — which might mean they’re planning some surprise event later. Maybe. Who knows.
We don’t have the full scoop on when it’ll drop or the cost, but here’s some loose info: It’s gonna run on Android XR with a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 2. Technical jargon that’s supposed to mean good. The screens? Courtesy of Sony, micro-OLED something or other. Pancake lenses? Sure, sounds delicious. It adjusts to your eyeballs and all that jazz, tracks eyes and hands, and—oh!—removable battery pack, too. Controllers? They say they’re coming.
Want more? Dive into our hands-on from December 2024, where we spill the beans on comfort, visuals, and how the Android XR is like a mix of Horizon OS with a hint of VisionOS. Got sidetracked there, but you get the gist.
