After a whirlwind of a week, the Nintendo Switch OG returns to what has sadly become its usual, unremarkable offerings.
There were a few things that slipped past us last week, like Namco’s Assault Plus making an appearance in the Archives.
Summing up last week is easy: “Well, that escalated quickly.” The uproar from the Switch 2 Direct, followed by the chaos of 20500, made the usual eShop debris seem almost endearing. Despite this storm, there’s some good stuff to look forward to. Star Overdrive, the hovercraft-centric title we caught a glimpse of during the Direct, is on deck. Unbelievably, it’s only been a week and a half since that reveal, yet it feels like ages. Additionally, Battlefield Waltz, a collaboration between Idea Factory and Otomate, is set to debut, but it’s wise to wait for news on any day one patches before diving in. (That’s my plan, at least.)
A few other titles to keep on your radar include “Promise Mascot Agency,” another addition to the Snow Bros. universe, and this week’s EggConsole game is a classic maze challenge from 1983—so those outside Japan can safely aim for Pyramid Warp.
North America Releases

- Big Buck Hunter: Ultimate Trophy will be available for $39.99 in the US and $49.99 in Canada on Friday.
