At today’s Nintendo Treehouse live event, the team gave us an exciting glimpse of GameCube classics that are making their way to Nintendo Switch Online on the Switch 2. During the demo, they briefly navigated into the options menu, and we noticed something interesting: an optional CRT filter. This addition is noteworthy because, up until now, the only other 3D system available on NSO, the Nintendo 64, lacks such a filter.
The prospect of this filter adapting to the enhanced 900p resolution is intriguing. It raises questions about whether the resolution will remain high or dip to better simulate the original CRT display experience. This also sparks curiosity about whether Nintendo 64 titles on NSO might receive a similar update for a CRT filter down the line.
