Okay, here goes nothing. So, there’s this report—pretty interesting if you ask me—and there’s this bit that’s sticking in my mind like gum on a shoe. It’s all about the Black Panther game and how it would’ve kinda twisted the Nemesis System around. You know, those folks at Cliffhanger, who used to be with Monolith Productions, were cooking up something. Can you believe they wanted to take the Nemesis System—remember that from Middle-earth?—and supercharge it or something. Wild.
So, Monolith had this whole thing with their Nemesis System. Basically, you’d be fighting these enemies and, I swear, they’d develop grudges against you. Some would run off, only to come back later, all beefed up. And others, oh boy, you thought they were down for the count, but nope, they’re back for round two. And get this—enemies could rise up the ranks! So it didn’t feel like you were just smacking down random peons, you know?
Man, that system was something else. Now imagine blending that into a Black Panther game. Apparently, the plan was to have multiple characters—T’Challa, Shuri, and, oh yeah, Killmonger—that scene-stealer, all fighting the Skrulls. These shape-shifting aliens were causing chaos. It’s like, you couldn’t trust your own team because, whoops, Skrull in disguise! Reminds me of that time I mistook a stranger for an old friend. Embarrassing.
There’s just something perfect about Skrulls with the Nemesis System. Picture it: your trusty sidekick turns around mid-battle, stabs you in the back—plot twist—they’re a Skrull leader! Bam, caught me off guard.
But hang on, now I hear EA’s dropped the ball—or, I don’t know—maybe they just didn’t get it? And Cliffhanger’s folks are left spinning their wheels, trying to figure out what’s next. Such a mess.
