New Design for Nintendo Switch 2 Allegedly Leaked by Case Manufacturer — Features Larger Screen and Joy-Cons with Familiar Look

Over the past week, a series of leaks regarding the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 design has emerged, capturing the attention of gaming enthusiasts. The intrigue reached new heights yesterday when Dbrand made an unexpected move, unveiling a detailed 3D render of the Switch 2. Interestingly, this render also showcased a redesigned version of Dbrand’s Killswitch carrying case, originally intended for handheld PCs, now fashioned for the Switch 2. In a conversation with The Verge, Dbrand’s CEO, Adam Ijaz, clarified that the company had access to the precise dimensions of the Switch 2, thanks to a 3D scan of the actual hardware. The specs list its dimensions at around 270mm in width with Joy-Cons attached, 200mm without, standing 116mm tall, and a trim 14mm thick.

This new iteration of the Nintendo Switch reportedly boasts a larger 8-inch screen, a notable upgrade from the Switch OLED’s 7.2-inch and the original Switch’s 6.2-inch displays. It appears to include an additional “C” button on the right Joy-Con—possibly for capturing content—and features Joy-Con controllers that can be magnetically detached, sporting a sleeker curve design. Meanwhile, the device comes equipped with USB-C ports at both ends and a robust U-shaped kickstand reminiscent of the improved stand on the Switch OLED.
