Whoops! So, I have this confession. Don’t think less of me, but… never played the original Bravely Default on the 3DS. Yeah, I know, maybe I missed the boat (or the airship, rather). Friends kept raving—“Next best thing to Final Fantasy!” they’d say. But hey, let’s skip to PAX East 2025. Total shocker—there was this sneaky demo of Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster. Perfect chance for a clueless soul like me to dive in fresh.
So, okay, the original had this dual-screen thing? Gone. Poof! We’re all about high-def graphics now. Eye candy for days. Plus, they tweaked the UI. Talked to this Square Enix rep—super chill. Tossed her an idea about maybe remaking the second title, Bravely Second: End Layer? She seemed into it, but who knows. Maybe it was the caffeine talking. Imagine if they do it though? All because of my random thought. Or not.
Oh, right, battle time. Timed demos, man, kind of kill the RPG vibe. So, yeah, kind of skipped a bunch of dialogue. Not proud. But the combat—nuts! You’ve got two moves: Brave and Default. Brave is like, YOLO with attacks, but you could get clobbered after. Default’s more like “Let’s chill and defend,” but you bank turns to unleash later. Me? Went full Brave-mode, all reckless abandon. Enemies glaring, feeling like I’m walking a tightrope without a net. I really need to sort my strategy out when I play for real.
Totally missed out on checking the job system. Curious about it though. Anyway, long story short—this remaster is for folks like me who, um, dropped the ball initially. Make sure to grab it for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. Launch day magic!
