Introducing Fresh Nightfall Experiences, Challenges, and Rewards

Destiny 2 fans, the wait is over! As of January 7, 2025, the game’s weekly reset has arrived, bringing fresh missions, challenges, and rewards. This update also sees Episode Revenant stepping into Act 3. Among the latest additions is Kell’s Fall, an exotic mission that will have you working to unlock the Slayer’s Fang slug shotgun. So, gear up and dive into the new content!

In a surprising twist, Destiny enthusiasts noticed an unexpected update over the weekend for the original Destiny. The Tower’s social space was decked out with Ghost-shaped lights and decorations akin to The Dawning. On closer inspection, these festive elements seem to link to a 2017 canceled event, "Days of the Dawning," which evidently was left forgotten in the game’s files and resurfaced unintentionally.

Weekly Nightfall and Modifiers

This week’s Nightfall Strike is "The Corrupted," bringing a set of challenging modifiers:

Advanced Modifiers:

• Champions: Overload and Unstoppable
• Hero Modifiers: Extra Shields. Solar, Void, and Arc.
• Galvanized: Combatants now have more health and are tougher to stun.
• Overcharge: Rocket Launcher and Kinetic Weapons (subclass and Surge element match).
• Threat: Arc
• Surge: Void and Arc

Expert Modifiers:

• All Advanced Modifiers.
• Equipment Locked: No equipment changes once the mission begins.
• Randomized Banes: Combatants get random Banes.
• Extra Shields

Master Modifiers:

• Includes all previous modifiers.
• Class Warfare: Buffs your fireteam’s damage while using class abilities.
• Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Grandmaster Modifiers:

• Incorporates all previous challenges.
• Chill Touch: Melee hits slow you down.
• Extinguish, Limited Revives, Join In Progress Disabled, Contest, Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Episode: Revenant Challenges

Week 14:

• Fortress I – Finish Act III’s "Kell of Kells," Part I.
• Fortress II – Complete Part II of "Kell of Kells."
• Europa Activities: Progress via bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.
• Last Rites: Achieve 150 ability final blows across Crucible, Gambit, or Vanguard Ops (bonus from Guardian takedowns).
• Dark Shadows: Eliminate 400 Scorn with Void damage during Gambit or Vanguard Ops.
• Darkest Nightfall: Succeed in any Nightfall at Advanced or higher (bonus for harder levels).

Exotic Mission Rotation

Bungie has rolled out a variety of exotic missions for players eager for new rewards. This week features the "Operation Seraph Shield," where the Revision Zero Exotic Pulse Rifle awaits.

Raid and Dungeon Rotation

Since Season 17, Bungie has kept Raids and Dungeons on a weekly rotation. Episode: Revenant now highlights two of each per week:

Neomuna and The Moon Activities

• Neomuna: Incursion Zone at Zephyr Concourse, Campaign Mission: Breakneck, Partition: Backdoor.
• The Moon: Features Trove Guardian at Archer’s Line, other nightmares, and more.

Xur’s Weekend Offerings

Xur, the mysterious merchant, rolls into town every weekend, offering curiosities and exotic items, refreshed with The Final Shape in play. This week’s selection includes:

• Crown of Tempests (Warlock helmet)
• Liar’s Handshake (Hunter gauntlet)
• Severance Enclosure (Titan chest armor)
• Various powerful weapons like Arbalest and Hard Light.
