Okay, so get this. I’m trying to figure out what’s up with GTA 6, right? The publisher, not-so-chill about spilling the beans on how much this beast of a game might cost. But hey, they do say they aim to give more value than they charge. I read that somewhere… or maybe I dreamt it? Anyway, Variety’s got this chat with Take-Two’s big boss, Strauss Zelnick. He’s dropping hints but nothing solid. Typical, right?
So, apparently, we’ll hear about prices from Rockstar themselves, eventually. Zelnick was yakking before some earnings meeting—how fancy. Oh, and speaking of fancy, GTA 5 hit a crazy milestone: 215 million copies sold. Like, who’s even counting at this point? And the whole franchise? We’re talking nearly 455 million. That’s, uh, a lot.
Now, there’s all this chatter about whether GTA 6 might set you back 80 bucks, maybe even 100. Yep, you heard me. Might make your wallet cry, but who knows? Zelnick’s playing it cool. He’s all, “Oh, maybe we’ll start with a premium price, throw in some special editions.” Then they usually drop the price later. Classic move, really.
As for Rockstar, they’re keeping quiet on the price. But they did drop a couple of trailers. The first one? Hit 93 million views, like, instantly. Then the second one just blew the first out of the water with 475 million views. What?! I couldn’t even process that.
Anyway, mark your calendars (or don’t, who does that?): GTA 6 is coming out for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on May 26, 2026. Sounds both far away and just around the corner, depending on how you look at it. I’ll probably lose track of dates but hey, that’s life.
