Sure thing, here goes nothing—

So, this guy Ben Gunstone just bagged himself the top gig at Stainless Games, you know, the minds behind Carmageddon. Never thought I’d be writing about video game CEOs, but here we are. He’s stepping into the shoes of Patrick Buckland, who’s been running the show since, like, the dawn of time—well, 1994, technically. Anyway, Ben’s been with them since 2022. Kinda feels like he’s been on a fast track, doesn’t it? Started as a game director, then somehow zoomed up to operations director. Before Stainless, he was with Dovetail Games for a bit. Not a big leap.
And Ben, bless his heart, seems super pumped about this whole CEO thing. Said something about being delighted and humbled, the way they always do. Apparently, Patrick’s left quite a legacy. I mean, 30 years is basically forever in game years. Ben’s all about keeping the game-making flame alive or something like that.
Patrick chimed in with his own words of wisdom. This guy’s turning 62 soon—surprised he didn’t say 72. Guess he’s looking to chill a bit, at least that’s what he says. Now he’s taking on the Executive Chairman role, whatever that really means. Probably still gonna have his fingers in the pie while saying he’s stepping back. Oh, and he’s still the major shareholder, so technically, it’s still his playground. He trusts Ben to look after the place, and I guess we’ll see how that plays out. Life twists in strange ways, doesn’t it?
Now, they’re on this “Onwards and upwards” mantra. Sounds hopeful—or maybe just what you say when you’re in charge of a gaming empire. Who knows where this rollercoaster’s headed.
