Late last year, Sightful pulled the plug on their funky laptop with AR glasses built in. Honestly, I kinda liked it. Anyway, they turned to making software for Windows instead. Fast forward, and here we are with Spacetop for Windows. It’s supposed to, like, turn any space into your own little virtual work bubble. 🚀
Yeah, they’re still tying it up with those XREAL AR glasses. But now, instead of just their own stuff, they’re targeting any AI PCs. Think Dell, HP, Lenovo; you get the picture.
Back in the day, Sightful wanted to push out this headless laptop thing running SpaceOS, which sounds eerie af, right? They canned that idea in October 2024 and even gave folks their money back. $1,900 worth. Supposedly NPUs are rocking better battery life and oomph for AR. Or so they say.
Oh! There was this image with a couch. Not a clue why it’s significant, but it’s part of their promo jazz.
Now they’re selling what they call the Spacetop Bundle for $899. It includes those XREAL Air 2 Ultra AR glasses (normally $699) plus a year-long subscription. Renewal’s $200 annually. There are optional lenses too, but my eyes are still good, so… yeah.
If you’re tech-savvy, you’ll want to know which laptops work best. Apparently, Dell XPS Core Ultra 7, HP Elitebook, and a few others fit the bill. Keep in mind, this list changes because there’s always something newer and shinier just around the corner.
Let’s talk features, shall we? You can access all the usual apps, slide stuff around your workspace with a flick, and work from wherever. Plane, train, or at your cousin’s weirdly dim-lit apartment. The display’s supposed to adjust to whatever lighting you’re dealing with. Bonus: claim it spares you from neck strains and squinty eyes.
Sightful’s rolling in dough since they’ve got $61M in funding. Founded by pros from PrimeSense, Magic Leap, you name it. They’re from Tel Aviv but have spots in Palo Alto and New York. Oh, and Taiwan too. Curious about Spacetop for Windows? Dive in and see where you land.
