They’ve teased us with just one trailer, where Marcus is back at it, grappling with a Locust Drone during the chaotic invasion of Kalona. Talk about bad days! At least one golden oldie is making a comeback: the Mark 1 Lancer Assault Rifle (Retro Lancer for the fans). But with E-Day being the freshest timeline so far, many modern Gears toys might not make the cut. Bummer, right? Yet, there are some classic weapons we just can’t let go of, whether for the campaign mode or multiplayer.

In every game from Gears of War, Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) weapons have been the go-to, right? Post-Pendulum Wars, these beauties should reappear, marking the end of a massive conflict with the Union of Independent Republics. Let’s chat about the OG COG lineup we’re hoping to see:

But what about the Locust, you ask? Well, they’ve had a cool 30 years lurking underground, building their own wild society and arsenal, largely to keep those pesky Lambent creatures at bay. Sure, they borrowed plenty from COG and UIR, but they crafted some signature weaponry too:

– Boomshot Grenade Launcher

And don’t even get me started on their heavy machines like the Troika; it’s a whole thing!

Now, picture this: Gears of War: E-Day could also let UIR push their way in, now that we’re fresh off the Pendulum Wars. I’m talking some possible missions where we see Marcus confronting UIR survivors or even Locust against UIR remnants! With modern games starting to feature more UIR tech, plenty of their gear could pop up, like the Booshka Grenade Launcher or Markza rifles. Oh, and the Hammer of Dawn—can’t forget that one!
