Okay, so here’s the thing. I just stumbled upon this game, Forefront — yeah, like the tip of the spear kind of idea. It’s supposed to be some kind of Battlefield wannabe in VR form, and I gotta say, that could either be really epic or just… meh. You get these crazy 16 versus 16 match-ups in wide-open maps, with all sorts of vehicles thrown in — tanks, jeeps, maybe choppers? — for some extra chaos. It’s coming to both Quest and Steam. Can you imagine all that mayhem in VR?
Anyway, out of nowhere, the studio, Triangle Factory — they’re the dudes behind Breachers, if that rings a bell — decided to drop an open alpha version. Just a taste test, really, to see what players think and to see if the game’s systems can handle a bunch of people going all-out. It won’t be around for long, though — blink and you miss it. Like, right now till tomorrow and then a couple more days next week (I think August 15–17, not like I kept track).
To get in on this chaos, you gotta hit up their Discord. Totally not bothering with the sign-up process myself, but hey, up to you. Oh, and before I forget, they’re gearing up for full launch on Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3-whatever, and good old Steam. Wonder how it’ll actually stack up against other VR shooters that only dabble with 4 or maybe 8 player limits. A totally different beast, right? Or maybe I’m just lost in the details. Anyway — wait, what was I talking about? Right. Heard enough.
