With Marathon in alpha testing, Bungie’s schedule is packed, and Destiny expansions have previously faced delays. Shifting towards expansion-driven storytelling may revitalize the game, especially if beloved characters return in The Edge of Fate to craft new tales.

Historically, the game’s seasonal model reinforced weekly player returns, but a move to expansion-only content could alter that dynamic.
