Y’know, it’s kinda wild how these game updates just like pop up outta nowhere sometimes. Anyway, so Capcom gave us a sneak peek at what’s next for Monster Hunter Wilds with this big update they’re calling Title Update 2. They talked about it in this livestream thingy in June, giving us all the juicy bits.
Okay, first things first, the release date’s dropping on a Monday, June 30. Mark your calendar if you’re one to keep tabs. They’ll shut things down for a bit—maintenance stuff—so the game’s gonna be offline for a few hours.
And oh, the new monsters! We’re getting Lagiacrus and Seregios. I swear, Lagiacrus just screams underwater brawls, right? Like a chunk of that battle is gonna be beneath the waves, which is wild ’cause you can’t swing your weapon freely down there. To face it, you’ve gotta finish that main quest—A World Turned Upside Down—and some side mission called Forest Doshaguma at Hunter Rank 31 or higher. It’s a thing.
Seregios is also for the brave souls at Hunter Rank 31 or more, same main quest needed. Both these behemoths offer fresh armor styles for both you and your Palico. Sweet! And for the super daring, there are Tempered (8 Star) versions cruising around at HR 41 or up. Good luck with that.
Oh, and there’s this Arch-tempered Uth Duna thing launching July 30 through some Event Quest. It’s supposed to be super tough, with new gear too, if you’re HR 50 or more.
On crafting—yes, FINALLY—we’re getting layered weapons. You can basically customize the look of your fave weapon by using other designs. Craft the final weapon in any tree, and bam, it’s yours to showcase. Rarity 8 though, don’t forget.
Then there’s a few odds and ends sprinkled in the update. You can switch your handler from Alma to Erik if you fancy a change, plus grab another support hunter armed with a Sword & Shield. Use it wisely!
And I just gotta mention the next Wilds seasonal shindig, Festival of Accord: Flamefete. Happens from July 23 to August 6. It’s a limited-time gig with fresh armor bits, camp deco, and gestures to snag. Also, the Grand Hub’s getting a facelift to match the theme, which is always nice.
Oh, and Capcom hinted at Title Update 3 sometime in September bringing in new monsters and more festival fun. Something to look forward to, I guess?
All this is happening when Wilds ain’t exactly riding high. It’s all over the place right now, player numbers dropping on Steam, and the reviews…ouch, not great. Overwhelmingly Negative, they say. Who knew?
So, will this update turn things around? Will players feel the love again? Guess we’ll see how this unfolds. Fingers crossed!
