Okay, so here’s the deal. Meta just dropped their new Quest 3S Xbox Edition, and, uh, it’s already MIA if you try to snag it straight from Meta’s own shelves. Weird, right? Anyway, some third-party folks still have it, so not all hope is lost.
Now, on the whole “limited edition” thing – was this ever gonna last? They warned us, calling it “extremely limited.” So, surprise surprise, it’s vanished quicker than socks in a dryer. Either the hype’s real, or Meta just tossed a handful of them out there. Who knows?
If you’re on this side of the pond (US folks, hey!), you can still find it at Best Buy. Across the ocean in the UK? Hit up Argos or EE. Although, let’s not ignore how even Xbox’s own site ends up directing you to Meta’s Out of Stock alert. This was a team effort, or a major underestimation.
And of course, scalpers are having a field day—we all saw this coming, right? They’re flipping the Quest 3S Xbox Edition on eBay for a king’s ransom. No surprise there.
Now, it’s not like they reinvented the wheel with this model. The Quest 3S Xbox Edition shares the same guts as the Quest 3S. What’s the difference? Oh, some snazzy colors, an Xbox controller, and three sweet months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Sounds like a party, but really, any current Quest 3S user could basically do the same with their setup if they have a controller lying around.
But hey, if you’re looking for a deal, this bundle is kinda like finding a fiver in your jeans. At $400, you’re saving some dough—I think it cuts about 75 bucks off if you piece it all together yourself. Not bad for getting into the whole gaming gig.
Once upon a 2016, Microsoft was all, “Xbox One X will rock high fidelity VR!” Spoiler: it didn’t happen. This headset doesn’t mean you get to immerse yourself in the Xbox VR wonderland; it’s just flatscreen gaming, but strapped to your face.
Still, it’s a neat idea. Maybe someday Xbox will take a crack at real 3D VR. Until then, we’re dreaming of pixels with depth.
Oh, and before I forget—small oops in the math department in an earlier version of this blurb. The bundle value was miscounted as $415, but actually, it’s $475. Numbers, am I right?
