Oh man, so guess what? People in Japan are all like, “Help, my Nintendo Switch 2 is about to melt!” Seriously, this thing’s throwing tantrums — like a toddler who didn’t get candy. It’s overheating, freezing games, and crashing like, well, me after too many energy drinks. I heard even while playing Cyberpunk 2077, it’s just giving up the ghost. And those are some hefty games, sure, but Pokémon? Splatoon? That’s like struggling to lift a feather, come on.
So everyone’s hopping on X (formerly Twitter — why’d they rename it again? Just confusing…) sharing this drama. Machines are translating their panic, which, by the way, is a trip. One dude’s fan was acting like it just ran a marathon. Rune Factory might become an actual sauna, if you’re not careful.
People are chiming in from all corners, not just Japan. Over on Facebook, some are saying their consoles get toasty enough to fry eggs, and Reddit’s buzzing about the same. One poor soul had a message pop up twice warning about nap time — I mean, overheating and entering sleep mode. Frustrating, right? And dock mode isn’t safe either. It’s nuts!
Nintendo’s tips are pretty basic — like telling someone with a flat tire to just patch it and hope for the best. “Try unplugging it,” they say. Thanks, Nintendo. Maybe I’ll open a window too! But hey, if that doesn’t fix it, you’re packing it off for repairs. Great.
Oh, and not to make it sound terrible — some folks are fine. We pushed our unit up to 117 degrees Fahrenheit while docked and, surprise, it got pretty warm. But people still love the Switch 2, buying it like it’s the last batch of chocolate before Valentine’s. Even with all this chaos, Nintendo’s sold out fast. Probably why their president had to say, “Sorry, we’re out!”
Anyway, not trying to scare you off gaming or anything. Just sharing the wild ride that the Switch 2 launch has been. Who knew a console could have more drama than my favorite soap operas?
