So, get this. Pneuma Games Group just went and set up a whole new crew called Cast Iron Games, right? They’re nestled in a place called Tileyard North in Wakefield, which probably sounds like the start of a fantasy novel, but nope, it’s reality. And they’re diving into the triple-A games co-development and porting scene. Exciting, eh?
At the wheel, we’ve got a couple of industry old-timers, Arden Aspinall and Jon Seymour. Titles? CEO and COO. Fancy, huh? They’ve done time at TickTock (the one you probably don’t know about), Rebellion, and Double Eleven. Those names ring a bell? Maybe?
Oh, and Cast Iron? They’re not flying solo—they’re like a sibling to Double Eleven. Family, but in the business sense. Makes sense when you hear Aspinall’s two cents: “I wanted our name to mean something, as in rock-solid reliability. Like, if our company were an actual cast iron skillet, you could probably cook a mean steak on it. Metaphorically, of course.”
And he goes on about Double Eleven too, like they’re the cool kids on the block: “Lee and the gang over there made something that, honestly, we’re all trying to emulate. It’s kinda like us saying, ‘Hey, we love what you’re doing, can we do that too?’”
Seymour jumps in with his bit, talking about vibes and spaces: “We wanted our team to vibe in an awesome space. Like, you get up in the morning and think, ‘Yeah, I wanna be there.’ All about that creative juice flowing freely without any blockers.”
Anyway, that’s them—Cast Iron Games, making some noise. They’re promising big things. Worth keeping an eye on, for sure.
